Job Summary
Assume responsibility for nursing care and outcomes for a designated group of patients via the nursing process, establishing priorities for patient care delivery and using critical thinking skills to coordinate responsibilities independently or by delegating. Administer medication and parenteral therapy in accordance with policy, including blood administration, while documenting assessments, reassessments, and progress toward goal achievement accurately and timely. Promote patient safety and quality by adhering to National Patient Safety Goals, communicate effectively with the health care team to escalate situations appropriately, and establish caring relationships with staff, patients, and families. Provide patient and family education and assist in discharge planning, considering readiness barriers and alternatives. Maintain personal accountability for professional practice and growth while demonstrating knowledge of physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-related criteria pertinent to the patients served in the assigned area.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
- Registered Nurse License-NYS
- BLS Certification through the American Heart Association
- ICU Experience
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- 8hr Stroke Education
- PALS
- 2yrs PACU Experience
