Job Summary
Admit and manage post-operative recovery for adult and pediatric surgical patients in the Outpatient Procedure Suite (OPS) and Day Surgery Department. Perform endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy, gastroscopy, ERCP, and bronchoscopy, alongside minor surgeries from urology, plastic, and ENT specialties. Act as a patient advocate within an interprofessional team while adhering to OPANA standards and hospital safety protocols. Requires a registered nurse with 1-2 years of PACU experience and 2 years in an endoscopy environment. Full-time day shift Monday to Friday.
Required Qualifications
- RN with undergraduate nursing degree
- Certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
- A minimum of 1-2 years of PACU experience
- completion of the Critical Care and/or Post anaesthesia certification or equivalent mandatory
- Minimum of 2 years working in Endoscopy related procedure environment
- Current BCLS/ACLS/PALS certification
- Evidence of professional development, continuing education and leadership experience
- Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
- Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with organization related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
- Proficient computer skills
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of the OPANA standards is an asset
- Membership with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)
