Job Summary
Assess, recognize, and address patients' psychological and physical needs while fostering quality care with families in mind. Communicate compassionately and effectively to coordinate care with health team members and assist in developing individualized treatment plans. Comply with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines while overseeing care delivered by LPNs and/or CNAs. Participate in clinical team conferences and follow hospital, regulatory, and professional guidelines. Manage care for patients with multiple diagnoses including sepsis, diabetes, and cardiac-tele monitored conditions, as well as pre/post orthopedic and general surgeries. Utilize the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, and evidence-based practice.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire
- ACLS/NRP/PALS as appropriate for unit or service
- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- BSN degree within four (4) years from the Registered Nurse's date of hire (unless exempt)
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of proven continuous Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting (alternative to BSN requirement)
