Job Summary
Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate patient care for post-operative individuals following orthopaedic procedures such as joint replacements and urological surgeries including kidney stone extraction. Provide patient education, act as a clinical resource, and support staff and students through orientation and preceptorship. Facilitate teamwork and cooperation within the multidisciplinary department while contributing to operational objectives. Requires current AHPRA registration, hospital experience, and strong communication skills. Permanent part-time role at St John of God Geelong Hospital with a rotating roster of day and night shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
- Collaborative and patient-focused Registered Nurse
- Commitment to ongoing education, professional development and maintaining high standards of clinical practice
- Previous experience within a hospital environment
- Experience in orthopaedic and/or urology nursing
- Well-developed communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team
- Strong commitment to quality patient care and positive patient experiences
- Must be vaccinated from Influenza
Desired Qualifications
- Permanent part-time position, 30hrs per week with hours negotiable with the successful candidate
- Rotating roster of day and night shifts
- Experience in orthopaedic and/or urology nursing
