Job Summary
Registered Nurse - OrthoNeuro Oncology, Full Time, Weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) Days. Provides quality inpatient nursing care focused on orthopaedic/neuro-oncology patients, including initial and ongoing assessments, development and revision of individualized care plans, collaboration with physicians and other disciplines, medication administration with safe technique, patient and family education, discharge planning, and adherence to nursing protocols. Maintains professional behavior, participates in performance improvement activities, and ensures SBAR communication during handoffs. Requires BSN or equivalent nursing education; active RN license with a compact multistate license or temporary permit; BLS within 3 months, PALS and ACLS within specified timelines as per role expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
- Current valid Registered Nurse (RN) License
- valid compact multistate license to work, or a temporary permit while awaiting licensure
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire
- Preferred: core certification related to area of specialty from National Certification Corporation (NCC) within 1 year of eligibility
- Maintain American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- PALS certification required within 6 months of employment
- Maintain American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- ACLS certification required within one year of employment
- Personnel Pool - ACLS required within 6 months of hire
