Job Summary
Coordinate, implement, and plan nursing care in a timely and accurate manner. Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients upon admission, including data obtained from the patient, family, and healthcare team. Plan individual patient care, identify problems and needs, and develop nursing diagnoses with appropriate interventions and outcomes. Plan for patient teaching, discharge, and post-discharge needs as appropriate. Functions independently with treatments, procedures, and equipment while adhering to policies and competency assessments. Handle, transport, store, prepare, and administer medications safely in accordance with hospital procedures. Document accurately and timely. Reassess patient conditions, evaluate responses, and modify care plans accordingly. Accept charge responsibilities and assign staff based on patient acuity and complexity. Maintain a healing environment and demonstrate professionalism in work areas and personal appearance.
Required Qualifications
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly
- Able to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day
- Able to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- AACN, CCRN or CCP certification within two years of hire
- ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire
- At least one year of emergency experience preferred
- TNCC Preferred
- PALS within 6 months of hire
- ENPC or TNCC within 6 months of hire
- At least one year of pediatric in-hospital experience preferred
- At least one year of pediatric emergency experience preferred
