Job Summary
Coordinate, implement, and plan nursing care in a timely and accurate manner. Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients, including data obtained from patients, families, and the healthcare team. Plan individual patient care, identifying problems, nursing diagnoses, standards of care, and interventions. Plan for patient teaching, discharge, and post-discharge needs. Function independently with treatments, procedures, and equipment while adhering to policies and competency-based assessments. Handle, transport, store, prepare, and administer medications safely. Document accurately and timely. Reassess patient conditions, evaluate responses, and modify care plans accordingly. Accept charge responsibilities and assign staff based on patient condition, acuity, and complexity. Maintain a healing and therapeutic environment for patients and families. Maintain work areas and personal appearance reflecting professionalism, cleanliness, and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly
- Able to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day
- Able to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs
- Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- AACN, CCRN or CCP certification within two years of hire
- ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire
- PALS within 6 months of hire
- ENPC or TNCC within 6 months of hire
Desired Qualifications
- At least one year of emergency experience preferred
- TNCC Preferred
- At least one year of pediatric in-hospital experience preferred
- At least one year of pediatric emergency experience preferred
