Job Summary
Assess, recognize, and address patients' psychological and physical needs on the 45-bed Orthopedic Med-Surg unit, which specializes in surgical care for pre/post orthopedic and general procedures. Foster quality of care by developing individualized treatment plans, overseeing LPN/CNA work, and participating in clinical team conferences. Comply with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines while operating monitors, transferring patients, and managing equipment in a fast-paced environment. Work night shifts only with a full-time, variable schedule including shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire
- A Registered Nurse with an ASN/ADN degree must complete a BSN degree within four (4) years from the Registered Nurse's date of hire unless the Registered Nurse has a minimum of fifteen (15) years of proven continuous Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing
- Ability to see and read computer monitors and documents
- Ability to operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands
- Ability to remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Ability to lift and transport objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching
