Job Summary
Assist in post-operative care for patients undergoing elective total joint surgeries, including hip, shoulder, knee, and ankle replacements. Provide post-surgical support through surgical dressings, drain management, and medication administration. Partner with Physical Therapists in the Joint Replacement Center to implement exercise and mobility plans ensuring patient success. Manage a fast-paced unit that includes general medical patients flowing through the Emergency Department. This role supports Joint Commission Certified hip and knee replacement procedures and hip fracture repairs at Ascension Saint Thomas West.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire
