Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgery, acting as a communication liaison to families and the surgical team. Monitor patient physical and emotional well-being, identify risks, and handle emergency situations with quick assessments. Assist the surgeon in operating room tasks, prepare the room for procedures, and direct care provided by licensed practical nurses and nursing aides when assigned. Record all care information accurately in computer software and assist with supply inventory control. Work with the full health care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes throughout the surgical experience.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- ADN, Diploma, BSN, or MSN degree
- State of Wisconsin Nursing licensure or permit
- On call requirements, 30-minute response time
- Basic Life Support/CPR within 3 months
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or the ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire
