Job Summary
Conduct patient care in the Operating Room Neuro Team, assisting with preoperative positioning, equipment training, and documentation while coordinating with anesthesia providers and surgeons. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients and ensure confidentiality, utilizing the nursing process to evaluate care effectiveness. This role offers opportunities to cross-train or advance to scrub or First Assist positions. The position requires at least one year of RN OR experience, a current RN license, and BLS/ACLS certifications, with duties involving lifting 50 pounds and prolonged standing. Located at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO, this PRN role includes 8-hour days Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associates Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification as required
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods each shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Shift availability: 8 Hour Days (Mon-Fri)
