Job Summary
Meet clients' basic medical needs under the Medical Director's direction while contributing to care planning, delivery, and treatment evaluation. Conduct medical and health assessments for new clients, coordinate with physicians for admission orders, and complete treatment plan documentation including nursing assessments, medication administration, and progress tracking. Direct patient care by reporting observed changes in mental or physical status, managing emergency responses, and providing education on detox, recovery, and medications. Reconcile pharmacy orders daily, verify medication sheets, and oversee proper medication destruction. Assist with quality assurance programs, train staff on infection control and pharmaceutical services, and attend treatment planning conferences. Available for 24-hour coverage for consultation and emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience
- Valid Registered Nurse license issued by state of employment
- Nursing degree from an accredited RN program, Associates in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent customer care skills
- Excellent communication skills
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Available for 24 hour coverage for consultation and emergencies
Desired Qualifications
- At least 2 years' experience in substance abuse/recovery program
