Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for adult medical patients on a Med-surg Telemetry unit, maintaining professional accountability and coordinating care with other departments. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers while adhering to Mercy Service Standards and patient confidentiality. Perform duties requiring prolonged standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds, including bending, kneeling, and squatting. Work 12-hour shifts with rotational weekends, utilizing quick PDSA cycles to solve nursing challenges and develop critical assessment skills within our Innovation Unit.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate or upcoming Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
