Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for the assigned medical surgical population, managing chronic and acute onset diseases including infectious disease, wound management, pneumonia, sepsis, COPD, diabetes, and gastro-intestinal conditions. Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments and manage surgical interventions, EGD, colonoscopy, outpatient infusion/chemo, and anti-coagulation therapies. Maintain professional accountability for care effectiveness and patient rights while performing duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Work 12-hour shifts with rotational weekends, with new graduates eligible for up to $20,000 loan forgiveness and experienced nurses receiving up to $20,000 sign-on bonuses for nightshifts.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate or upcoming Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- 12-hour shifts 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am with rotational weekends
- Full time or part time availability
