Job Summary
Groves Memorial Community Hospital is seeking a temporary part-time Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. The role encompasses comprehensive nursing care within the OR, Endoscopy Suite, Day Surgery, and Recovery Room in accordance with College of Nurses of Ontario standards and hospital policies. The position emphasizes perioperative nursing principles, collaboration within an interdisciplinary team, leadership/charge responsibilities, and commitment to continuing education. On-call rotations are required as part of standard operating room, PACU, Endoscopy, and Day Surgery hours.
Required Qualifications
- Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- 1-3 years OR experience
- Current BCLS
- Post Graduate Course in Perioperative Nursing required
- Post Anesthetic Care Nursing certificate/course or willingness to obtain
- ACLS & PALS or willingness to obtain
- Satisfactory performance and attendance required
- Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired
- Prepared to work in all areas of Surgical Suite (Operating Room Scrub and Circulating, Endoscopy, Day Surgery, Post Anaesthetic Care Unit) on a rotating basis
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proven organizational and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to function as an effective interdisciplinary team member
- Ability to assume a leadership/charge role
- Understanding of evidence based practice and standards of Operating Room nursing
