Job Summary
Per-diem Registered Nurse for an OR-general assignment at a Medical Center in Selma, AL. Functions as Circulating Nurse to manage overall nursing care in the operating room, ensuring a safe, sterile environment and acting as the patient’s advocate before, during, and after surgery. Responsibilities include preoperative assessments, site verification, coordinating the surgical team, equipment and supplies, maintaining aseptic technique, accounting for instruments/sponges/needles, and assisting in postoperative transfer. Requires BSN, AL RN license, 6 months RN experience, CPR/BLS preferred, clean background check, TB test, annual physical, and COVID-19 vaccination per facility/agency requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered RN license from the state of Alabama.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months of RN work experience.
- Technical Skills: Current CPR certification (Basic Life Support preferred).
- Soft Skills: Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, effective communication, cultural competency, collaboration, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
