• •Current Michigan RN License (or completed by end of orientation)
• •Current BLS for the Healthcare Provider (or completed within 60 days of hire)

• •Ability to function as a circulating nurse
• •Ability to coordinate patient transfer from pre-procedure through post-anesthesia recovery
• •Ability to observe patients during surgical procedures to detect possible complications and/or breaks in sterile technique
• •Ability to locate and gather emergency equipment and supplies as needed
• •Ability to place patients in appropriate position(s) to ensure access to the operative field
• •Ability to adjust operating table and accessory equipment as may be required
• •Ability to prepare operative area and assist surgeon and anesthesia as indicated
• •Ability to advocate for the patient by communicating with other members of the multidisciplinary team about patient status, and progress of surgical procedure(s) as needed
• •Ability to observe progress of surgery
• •Ability to provide and regulate fluids as indicated
• •Ability to apply or assist in applying dressings, and transferring patients, from operating room to recovery room
• •Ability to prepare and organize the OR based on the scheduled procedure, utilizing established preference cards and surgeon directives
• •Ability to ensure all required instruments, supplies, and equipment are available, functional, and properly arranged
• •Ability to assist with patient transfer to the OR and supports preoperative preparation, including positioning readiness and equipment setup
• •Ability to perform the circulating nurse role, ensuring adherence to surgical safety standards
• •Ability to position patients safely to optimize surgical access while preventing injury (e.g., pressure injuries, nerve damage)
• •Ability to demonstrate expertise in aseptic technique and the proper handling and use of surgical instrumentation, supplies, and equipment
• •Ability to prepare the operative site and assist the surgical and anesthesia teams as indicated
• •Ability to monitor the sterile field and patient condition throughout the procedure, recognizing and responding to complications or breaks in technique
• •Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide additional instruments, supplies, fluids, or equipment as required
• •Ability to verify patient identity, procedure, and surgical site in accordance with safety protocols (e.g., time-out procedures)
• •Ability to provide accurate and timely handoff communication to receiving staff
• •Ability to coordinate and facilitate safe patient transfer from the operating room to PACU or phase II
• •Ability to complete thorough and compliant documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
• •Ability to maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and infection prevention standards
• •Ability to ensure a safe surgical environment, including proper handling of instruments, sharps, and equipment
• •Ability to identify and respond to emergency situations, ensuring immediate access to necessary equipment and supplies
• •Ability to communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team regarding patient status and procedural progress
• •Strong understanding of sterile technique and infection prevention

• •Schedule: Monday-Friday, one day off per week
• •Mix of 8 and 10 hour shifts (during the 7am to 7:30pm time frame)

• •72 hours every 2 weeks
