Job Summary
Conduct patient care in the Operating Room using the nursing process, coordinating with preop, anesthesia, surgeons, and recovery staff to safely manage surgical procedures across general surgery, urology, plastics, gyn, orthopedic, neurosurgery, and cardiothoracic services. Perform equipment training, proper patient positioning, and documentation while maintaining professional accountability and patient confidentiality. Cross-train or advance to scrub or First Assist roles as opportunities arise. Requires current RN license, BLS certification, and ability to lift 50 pounds, stand, and walk for prolonged periods.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Other unit specific certifications including ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as required
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year of RN and/or previous OR experience preferred but not required
