Registered Nurse – Circulating Nurse in the OR providing quality patient care using the nursing process and the medical plan of care. Responsibilities include facilitating communication between operative and non-operative team members, ensuring availability of sterile supplies and equipment, preparing the operating room, assisting with anesthesia induction and emergence, performing time outs, maintaining sterile fields, and documenting operative events. Requires OR experience, Virginia (or compact state) RN licensure, and BCLS certification; ACLS/PALS are preferred within six months. The role emphasizes patient safety, collaboration with the surgical team, and efficient perioperative workflow.
