Job Summary
Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting by performing scrub and circulating functions, including instrument selection, patient monitoring, and communicating patient condition. Directly assist the operating physician with surgical tasks such as hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning while preparing operating rooms and equipment. Maintain Indiana Board of Nursing licensure and obtain Advanced Life Support and BLS certification prior to hire. Previous OR hospital experience is strongly preferred. Schedule includes three 10-hour shifts (7am-5:30pm, 8am-6:30pm, or 9am-7:30pm) based on surgery volume at Ascension St. Vincent, a leading nonprofit Catholic health system.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire
