Job Summary
Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures while maintaining sterile environments and infection control protocols. Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgery, assisting surgeons and anesthetists to ensure safe and efficient theatre operations. Perform patient assessments, monitor patients throughout the perioperative journey, and escalate concerns promptly. Complete surgical safety checklists, manage theatre stock and consumables, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and ongoing professional development activities. Requires a BSN, current DHA license, BLS certification, and minimum two years of operating theatre experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent recognized nursing qualification
- Current DHA Registered Nurse License or DHA Eligibility Letter (mandatory)
- Current BLS certification (mandatory)
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Theatre nursing experience in an acute care hospital or surgical centre
- Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices, infection prevention, and patient safety standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and clinical documentation
- Patient-focused and safety-conscious
- Strong attention to detail

- Professional, compassionate, and adaptable
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience in scrub and circulating theatre nursing preferred
- Experience supporting multiple surgical specialties such as General Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, or Day Surgery is advantageous
