Job Summary
Perform circulating functions before and during surgery, including preparing the operating environment, orienting the patient, monitoring patient condition, and controlling traffic. Execute scrub functions by preparing, selecting, and handling instruments while performing surgical counts with the circulating nurse. Manage the operative environment to maintain safety and optimize outcomes for a complex, high-acuity surgical population. Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program
- BSN
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
- any relevant certification as determined at position level
- CNOR
- 6 months of OR nursing (RN) experience
- completion of the UCHealth Fellowship program
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
