Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain professional accountability for assigned patients. Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information while performing duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis, and endure prolonged standing and walking each shift. Requires ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat. Obtain and maintain a current RN license within the hiring state or compact licensure. Hold Basic Life Support certification, with ACLS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, and other unit-specific certifications required or acquired within the department timeframe. Work as a PRN Registered Nurse in the Operating Room.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods each shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire

- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization) Six Assessment & Care Modules
- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
- Other unit-specific certifications as required
