Job Summary
Provide patient care in the Operating Room using the nursing process while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinate patient care with other departments. Ensure patient rights and confidentiality are upheld while adhering to Mercy Service Standards. Requires current RN licensure, BLS certification, and ability to lift 50 lbs with prolonged standing. Must have prior OR experience.
Required Qualifications
- OR experience
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
