Job Summary
Registered Nurse in the Operating Room responsible for delivering safe, effective patient-centered care throughout surgical procedures. Tasks include monitoring patients, administering medications as prescribed, collaborating with healthcare teams, and responding to surgical emergencies. Expected to possess knowledge of nursing diagnosis and practices, evaluate patient conditions, and demonstrate skills in using surgical and monitoring equipment. A current RN license in Alaska, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification are required.
Required Qualifications
- Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or other U.S. state
- BLS required
- ACLS and PALS required to be obtained within 6 months of hire date
Desired Qualifications
- One year's clinical nurse experience preferred
- Prior experience in specialty preferred
- Knowledge of nursing care principles, practices, diagnosis, and processes
- Skills to apply scientific principles in operating and monitoring of equipment
- Strong sound decision-making and critical thinking skills
