Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care by completing holistic physical, psychosocial, and spiritual assessments and prioritizing individualized patient problems. Coordinate multidisciplinary plans of care, communicate updates using SBAR, and initiate discharge planning upon admission. Perform nursing actions based on physician orders, provide ongoing patient and family education, and respond to emergency situations with controlled precision. Document all interventions and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record. Demonstrate leadership by mentoring peers, participating in staff and council meetings, and contributing to performance improvement projects. Maintain competency through required training, annual education day attendance, and certification in your clinical specialty area.
Required Qualifications
- BSN within 5 years of the date of hire
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Certification in area of clinical specialty within five years of eligibility
- 100% on-time completion and attendance for annual education day
- Ability to accept and implement change
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse setting
Desired Qualifications
- MSN or DNP
- Membership in professional organizations
- Certification specific to work area of professional practice when eligible
