Job Summary
Conduct holistic assessments, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for surgical patients while adhering to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act and The Christ Hospital Professional Practice Model. Perform and delegate nursing actions based on physician orders, respond to emergency situations with controlled precision, and provide individualized education to patients and families. Document all nursing processes accurately in the electronic medical record and participate in shift reports, care conferences, and unit-based performance improvement initiatives. Maintain competency through required training, mentor peers, and support professional development for multidisciplinary team members.
Required Qualifications
- BSN within 5 years of the date of hire
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Certification in area of clinical specialty within five years of eligibility
- Ability to accept and implement change
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse setting
Desired Qualifications
- MSN or DNP
- Membership in professional organizations
- Participation in the professional advancement program
- Certification specific to work area of professional practice when eligible
- Participation in chosen professional organizations and conferences
