Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care utilizing The Christ Hospital Professional Practice Model, focusing on age-specific and culturally based needs. Perform holistic assessments of physical, psychosocial, and spiritual requirements while recognizing abnormal data and reporting changes to physicians. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams through SBAR handoffs to coordinate care plans, establish priorities during shift reports, and initiate discharge planning. Provide evidence-based interventions, delegate tasks appropriately, and respond to emergency situations with controlled precision. Document all nursing processes accurately in the electronic medical record and maintain competency through required BLS certification and annual education. Participate in staff meetings, unit-based performance improvement projects, and precept nursing students to support professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- BSN within 5 years of the date of hire
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Certification in area of clinical specialty within five years of eligibility
- Ability to accept and implement change
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse setting
