Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for groups and individuals using The Christ Hospital Professional Practice Model. Perform holistic assessments of physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs while recognizing and reporting abnormal data to physicians. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to communicate pertinent physiological and psychological data, establish priorities of care, and initiate discharge planning upon admission. Provide evidence-based, individualized patient and family education, respond to emergency situations with controlled precision, and implement measures to prevent disease transmission. Accurately document the nursing process, plan of care, and patient responses in the electronic medical record. Demonstrate leadership by mentoring peers, participating in staff and council meetings, and contributing to performance improvement projects. Comply with organization policies, complete Healthstream education requirements, and maintain current Ohio licensure and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- BSN within 5 years of the date of hire
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Certification in area of clinical specialty within five years of eligibility
- 100% on-time completion and attendance for annual education day
- Ability to accept and implement change
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse setting
Desired Qualifications
- MSN or DNP
- Membership in professional organizations
- Certification specific to work area of professional practice when eligible
- Participation in the professional advancement program
- Participation in chosen professional organizations and conferences
