Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the operating room using The Christ Hospital Professional Practice Model. Perform and delegate nursing actions based on physician orders while responding to emergency situations with controlled precision. Provide ongoing, individualized holistic education to patients and families, ensuring safety initiatives are proactively identified and executed. Document the nursing process accurately in the electronic medical record and communicate pertinent data via SBAR handoff processes with the multidisciplinary team. Demonstrate leadership by mentoring peers, participating in staff and council meetings, and contributing to performance improvement projects. Maintain competency in point-of-care testing and adhere to all organizational policies, training requirements, and Ohio Nurse Practice Act standards.
Required Qualifications
- BSN within 5 years of the date of hire
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Certification in area of clinical specialty within five years of eligibility
- Ability to accept and implement change
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse setting

- Certification specific to work area of professional practice when eligible
