Job Summary
The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides specialized care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. Responsibilities include assessing patients, administering preoperative medications, preparing the operating room with sterile instruments and supplies, maintaining sterile technique, assisting surgeons and the surgical team by passing instruments, monitoring vital signs, responding to intraoperative changes, ensuring infection control compliance, documenting procedures in the EHCR, and coordinating with physicians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency. Requires setting up OR for various surgical cases, adherence to AORN guidelines, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and strong communication skills. Routine schedule is 40 hours/week with potential on-call/overtime; position located at Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio, US.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing
- BLS
- PALS
- ACLS/ALS
- Current unrestricted LPN/LVN license in one of the 50 US States and/or territories
- US Citizenship is Required
- Minimum of two years nursing experience including one year OR experience
- CNOR certification preferred but not required
