Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• •Knowledge of the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act
• •Implementation of the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association
• •Knowledge, competency, and clinical expertise in oncology infusion therapy
• •Knowledge of hazardous drug therapies for treating malignant and nonmalignant conditions
• •Ability to administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, antineoplastics agents, hazardous drugs, and targeted therapies
• •Understanding and awareness of age-appropriate and culturally aware needs
• •Ability to address patient/family biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and education needs
• •Ability to deliver patient care in complex situations
• •Ability to serve as a clinical resource to nursing staff, operational leadership, and medical staff
• •Ability to uphold the voice of the patient, system policies and procedures while supporting service excellence goals
• •Ability to attend and participate in staff meetings, in-services, special projects and continued education
• •Ability to serve as a preceptor for newly hired RN colleagues
• •Ability to float between Cobb Hospital HOD's based on need
• •Ability to perform the Nursing Process (assessment; diagnosis; identification of outcomes; planning; implementation and evaluation) in the performance of clinical care using evidence-based practice
• •Ability to use analytical/critical thinking
• •Ability to coordinate care through effective partnerships
• •Ability to practice using current clinical practice standards including but not limited to chemotherapy and targeted therapies for treating malignant and nonmalignant conditions
• •Meeting annual requirements for chemotherapy competence
• •Ability to coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care
• •Ability to complete timely documentation
• •Ability to promote a respectful, inclusive clinical environment
• •Ability to practice in a manner that is fiscally responsible
• •Ability to promote the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members
