Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in the Oncology clinic at Osler with responsibilities spanning safe nursing practice across the nursing process, patient-centered care, infection control, and discharge planning. The role requires collaborative inter-professional teamwork, health teaching to patients and families, and the ability to respond to emergencies. Candidates should have at least five years of recent nursing experience with a minimum of two years in oncology, certification in Oncology Nursing Canada, provincial standardized chemotherapy/biotherapy courses, chemotherapy administration experience, and the Foundations in Oncology Nursing Practice and Foundations of Oncology for Emergency Nurses courses. Core competencies include current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, BCLS, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, customer service, organizational and critical-thinking abilities, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment. The position may require travel between Osler sites. Hours currently include days, weekends and statutory holidays, with salary ranging from $40.24 to $57.68 per hour. Required Qualifications
- Experience within the last five years, with a minimum of two years, in oncology nursing required
- Certified in Oncology Nursing Canada required
- Provincial standardized chemotherapy and biotherapy courses required
- Experience in chemotherapy administration required
- Foundations in Oncology Nursing Practice course required
- Foundations of Oncology for Emergency Nurses course required
- Core competencies: Current registration, and in good standing, with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- BCLS required
- Demonstrated leadership and facilitation skills required
- Demonstrated ability to work in a stressful and fast-paced environment
- Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
- Knowledge and understanding of information systems and technology
- May be required to travel and work between all Osler sites
- Ability to promote a healthy work environment and practice excellent client safety guidelines
- Knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
