Job Summary
The Registered Nurse - Oncology (Per Diem) is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and implementing nursing care for assigned patients. They oversee patient care delivery by coordinating with other health team personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing. Responsibilities include completing mandatory competencies, managing patient teaching, leading quality/safety initiatives, and participating in peer reviews. An Associate's Degree in Nursing is required while a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Candidates must possess or be eligible for a Virginia RN license and hold current Basic Life Support certification.
Required Qualifications
- RN License required
- BLS Certification (Basic Life Support)
- Competent in providing care based on stages of human growth and development
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of RN experience
- Relevant Specialty Certification preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must have reliable means of phone communication with hospital
- If an RNA beginning employment as an RN I or promoting to an RN I from any VH position, must secure an Eligibility to Test Letter from the Virginia Board of Nursing
