Job Summary
Provides professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice in support of physicians and assists the physician in treatment and related clinical duties. Upholds Mercy Philosophy of caring, respect for human life and dignity, and applies Christian values in daily practice. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, current state license, and CPR (or within 90 days). Maintains ability to interpret and apply guidelines, communicate clearly, and manage emergency situations; adapts to electronic documentation and uses clinic equipment as needed. Focuses on patient care, education, and collaboration with patients, families, staff and the public.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current valid state license
- CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment
- Skills in assisting and performing a variety of medical treatments and procedures
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Effective communication with patients, staff and the public
- Basic computer terminal and keyboard skills or ability to learn
