Job Summary
Provide direct comprehensive nursing care for oncology infusion patients from admission to discharge; perform planning, ongoing assessment, timely interventions, and evaluation of patient care with a focus on outcomes; maintain professional standards and apply evidence-based practices; prioritize care based on changing patient needs; communicate continuously with physicians and other departments; collaborate with the care team and involve patient and family in care decisions; uphold specialized oncology practices and certifications per orientation and licensing requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution
- Current unrestricted RN licensure in Kentucky
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
- Oncology Nursing Special Certification: ONS and Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification required before completion of orientation
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) required within two years of hire
- Crisis Prevention certification within 6 months of hire
