Job Summary
Administer chemotherapeutic agents to patients per physician orders while ensuring safe biohazardous waste disposal. Conduct ongoing patient assessments, document treatments in OncoEMR, and educate patients and families regarding medications and side effects. Prioritize incoming telephone triage calls from patients, hospitals, and pharmacies, and assist with inventory, restocking, and dispensing medications via Nucleus. Respond to emergent and non-urgent inquiries within appropriate time frames. Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information, attend mandatory safety and staff meetings, and support new employee training. Will be expected to work at any Company location to meet business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse, licensed in the State of employment
- experience in IV therapy
- Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital
- The ability to assess patient needs and conditions
- strong critical thinking skills
- the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Current CPR & BLS certifications
- Fluency in the English language
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- Valid Driver's license, in state of residency, for travel to clinics
- Will be expected to work at any Company location to help meet the Company's business needs
