Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned oncology patients while maintaining professional accountability and coordinating care with other departments. Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers and ensure strict adherence to patient rights and confidentiality standards. Maintain current RN licensure and complete required certifications, including Basic Life Support, within 30 days of hire. This full-time, day-shift role at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO, requires physical stamina for prolonged standing, lifting 50 pounds, and bending to perform duties. Experienced RNs may qualify for a $10,000 sign-on bonus, while new graduates receive up to $7,500 plus access to bridging programs for BSN and MSN degrees.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Other unit specific certifications as required
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year of RN experience is preferred
