Job Summary
Respond to patient needs during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays by providing direct patient care, managing symptoms, and serving as the primary liaison between patients, families, physicians, and the hospice team. Evaluate clinical needs to guide care decisions, collaborate with interdisciplinary staff including LPNs and CNAs, and accurately document visits while ensuring continuity with the daytime care team. Work independently on a full-time weekend schedule with on-call rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of requested employment (or eligibility to obtain)
- 1+ years of nursing experience
- A hospice heart: compassionate, calm, and dependable in urgent care situations
- Excellent clinical judgment and the ability to provide support in emotionally intense settings
- Comfortable providing care in patients' homes, facilities, or wherever they reside
- Valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation
- Current CPR certification
- Full-time weekend Baylor schedule
- This is a safety-sensitive position

Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of hospice, home health, oncology, or palliative care experience
- Familiarity with symptom management, triage, and after-hours home-based care
- Prior experience in on-call or overnight nursing roles
- Strong documentation and electronic medical records (EMR) skills
