Job Summary
Assess patients' medical status upon admission and develop individualized treatment plans for the Obstetrics unit. Implement evidence-based care using the nursing process while overseeing LPNs and CNAs. Recognize and address psychological and physical needs, fostering continuity with families in mind. Participate in clinical team conferences and comply with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines. Manage patient transfers and equipment movement in a busy environment, requiring full range of motion and manual dexterity. Requires current Montana RN license, BLS certification, and NRP training within 18 months. Full-time 36-hour schedule with variable shifts; BSN required for new hires after July 1, 2020.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Montana RN license
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association
- NRP within 18 months of hire
- STABLE within 2 years of hire
- Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends
- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
Desired Qualifications
- One year of nursing experience in a comparable setting
