Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients in the obstetrics unit using evidence-based practice and therapeutic interventions. Coordinate care with the health team, oversee LPNs and CNAs, and participate in clinical team conferences. Recognize and address patients' psychological and physical needs while fostering continuity and quality of care. Assist in developing individualized treatment plans and comply with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines. Manage patient admissions, monitor equipment, and perform manual tasks including transferring patients and ambulating them. Requires a current Montana RN license, BLS certification, and NRP training. Full-time 36-hour schedule with variable shifts. Prior OB/L&D experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Montana RN license
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association
- NRP within 18 months of hire and STABLE within 2 years of hire
- Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends
- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
Desired Qualifications
- One year of nursing experience in a comparable setting
