Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for obstetrics and labor & delivery units using evidence-based practice and therapeutic interventions. Oversee care delivered by LPNs and CNAs while participating in clinical team conferences and fostering continuity of care for patients and families. Recognize and address both psychological and physical patient needs, assist in developing individualized treatment plans, and ensure compliance with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines. Perform duties including patient assessment, medication preparation, and equipment operation within a 36-hour full-time schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Montana RN license
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association
- NRP within 18 months of hire
- STABLE within 2 years of hire
- Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends
- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
Desired Qualifications
- One year of nursing experience in a comparable setting
- Prior OB and/or L&D experience
