Job Summary
The Observation Unit RN will provide care to patients requiring close monitoring and short-term care due to acute conditions. Responsibilities include assessing patients for changes in condition, administering treatment and medications, documenting status, educating patients and families on care plans, and coordinating with healthcare team members to ensure safe discharge or admission. Candidates must have a degree from an approved nursing school and a current NYS RN license, along with BLS certification and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of approved school of nursing
- NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse
- 2 to 5 years of medical-surgical nursing experience in an acute care setting
- Current BLS
- Good Communication skills and skilled in customer service
- Reliability and flexibility
- Demonstrates the CARES Values at all times
Desired Qualifications
- Working towards a BSN or professional certification within one year of employment
Additional Requirements
- NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse
