Job Summary
Gather and update patient information and vital signs, administer medications and vaccines, perform diagnostic screenings, and collect specimens for testing. Accurately collect and prepare specimens, place and review orders within the EMR, and relay lab results to patients via phone, portal, or in-person. Provide patient and family education, document accurately and timely, and respond to urgent or acute situations based on prioritization skills. Coordinate care with in-house specialties, community resources, and home health while adhering to industry guidelines and department protocols. Maintain strict HIPAA confidentiality and complete mandatory educational requirements and certifications.
Required Qualifications
- ADN or BSN from an accredited institution
- Unencumbered active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Maine
- BLS required within 6 weeks of hire
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft applications
- Electronic medical record (EMR) experience
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Respond to rapidly changing, sometimes acute patient care needs
- Demonstrates excellent professional judgement
- Phone skills
- Prioritization decision-making skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Desired Qualifications
