Job Summary
Conduct nursing home surveys and complaint investigations to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations; travel to onsite facilities to perform surveillance and investigations, document findings, and draft a Statement of Deficiencies (SOD) within required timeframes; assess compliance with the Plan of Correction; complete data entry in Federal and State reporting databases; participate in State monitoring during Immediate Jeopardy situations; attend meetings and may testify in administrative hearings; must obtain SMQT certification within 12 months of employment; strong interpersonal, investigative, and communication skills; ability to travel and work a rotating schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings as determined by the state.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- NY State Licensed Registered Nurse (RN)
- Certification: Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT) within 12 months of employment
- Experience: minimum two (2) years in utilization review, claims adjudication, medical review, fraud investigation, surveillance or monitoring activities, OR three (3) years of clinical or administrative experience, OR two (2) years of clinical or administrative experience
- Ability to travel to onsite locations
- Weekend, holiday, and evening shifts availability
