Registered Nurse - Nursing Home Surveyor/Complaint Investigator

Job Summary
Conduct nursing home surveys and investigate complaints, including allegations of abuse and neglect, at facilities across New York City boroughs. Produce written documentation and draft Statements of Deficiencies, assess Plans of Correction, and complete data entry in federal and state reporting databases. Participate in state monitoring during immediate jeopardy situations and attend administrative hearings as needed. Travel to onsite locations according to a rotating schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and evening shifts. Hold an active NYS RN license with at least one year of survey experience and obtain SMQT certification within 12 months.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Must hold an active NYS Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in utilization review, claims adjudication, medical review, fraud investigation, surveillance, or monitoring activities
- 3 years of clinical or administrative experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Nursing and 2 years of clinical or administrative experience
- At least 1 year of survey experience
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new programs
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Superior investigative and analytical abilities
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- SMQT Certification
- Must have a valid driver's license
- The ability to travel to on-site facilities
- Candidates must be flexible with scheduling
- Must be available to work weekends
- Must be available to work holidays
- Must be available to work evening shifts
- Weekend, holiday, and evening shift schedules will be assigned on a rotating basis
- This is a travel position
