Job Summary
Registered Nurse - Nursing Home Surveyor/Complaint Investigator in New York City, NY conducts surveys and complaint investigations at nursing homes to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations, drafts Statements of Deficiencies, assesses Plans of Correction, and completes data entry in federal/state databases. Requires active NYS RN license, a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and 2+ years of relevant experience (utilization review, claims adjudication, medical review, fraud investigation, surveillance, or monitoring) or 3 years of clinical/admin experience; at least 1 year of survey experience. Must be able to travel to onsite facilities, work weekends/holidays/evening shifts, and possess strong investigative/analytical skills with excellent written and interpersonal communication. SMQT preferred (must be obtained within 12 months). Driver’s license required and schedule will be determined by state; travel position with flexible scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Active NYS Registered Nurse license
- Minimum 2 years of experience in utilization review, claims adjudication, medical review, fraud investigation, surveillance, or monitoring activities; OR 3 years of clinical or administrative experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and 2 years of clinical or administrative experience
- At least 1 year of survey experience
- Strong computer skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to travel to on-site facilities
- Availability for weekends, holidays, and evening shifts
- SMQT Certification preferred but must be obtained within 12 months of employment
