Job Summary
Conduct patient interviews, assess gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological health status, and adjust care plans based on mobility, sensory deficits, and skin conditions. Administer prescribed treatments and medications safely while documenting physiologic and psychosocial health status. Evaluate patient outcomes, coordinate cost-effective use of supplies, and collaborate with physicians to implement treatment regimens. Perform grade I-IV decubitus care, preventive skin care, and aseptic dressing applications. Educate patients and families regarding drug interactions and discharge planning. Maintain constant vigilance over patient safety and respond rapidly during emergency situations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
- Must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two (2) years
- Obtain a BSN Degree within five (5) years of job entry date
- Specialized certifications as needed
