Job Summary
Conduct initial assessments of patients and families to determine home care needs, including complete physical examinations and histories of current and previous illnesses. Provide community health education and support with prolonged standing, walking, and patient transfers. Requires current Iowa licensure, CPR certification, and a Bachelor's degree with one year of home health experience preferred. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current licensure in the state of Iowa
- CPR certification
- Bachelor's degree
- Licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order
- Visual acuity and hearing to perform required nursing skills
- Able to lift, position, or transfer patients
- Able to lift supplies and equipment
- Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, or crouching
- Excellent observation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Basic math skills
- nursing skills per competency checklist
- Prolonged or considerable walking or standing
Desired Qualifications
- one (1) to two (2) years of recent acute care or Home Health experience in an institutional setting
- one (1) year of home health care experience
- Experience with OASIS
