Job Summary
Night-shift Registered Nurse providing comprehensive correctional healthcare to inmate patients: assess health problems, initiate medical records and care plans, respond to day-to-day medical issues and emergencies, administer prescribed treatments and medications, prepare equipment/rooms, manage IV therapies, and maintain pharmacology practices. RN will supervise/delegate to lower-licensure staff, respond to emergencies with CPR/AED, participate in triage and emergency plans, educate inmates on health, diet, and prevention, and ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of health information while operating within a correctional facility security environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license
- Degree or diploma from nursing program
- CPR/BLS certification
- TB test within one year
- Background check and pre-employment drug test
- Ability to use standard medical equipment (AED, EKG, BP, oxygen, glucometer)
- Experience in correctional healthcare preferred, but not required
